De Zilk
De Zilk began as a small hamlet in the salty dune area near Noordwijkerhout. The name refers to the salty nature of the soil. For a long time, the area mainly consisted of dunes, forests, and farmland. In 1920, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church was built — still the village’s landmark today. Although the village grew slowly during the 20th century, De Zilk has remained small-scale and retained its peaceful, village character.
De Zilk is a charming village in the Bollenstreek region, where peace, space, and community spirit are central. You live here between dunes and bulb fields, surrounded by plenty of freedom and greenery. De Zilk has an active community life with annual traditions such as the village festival week and the colorful flower parade that passes through. The village is small but lively, with enough local facilities for daily convenience.

Although De Zilk is located in a rural area, it is well connected. Within 10 minutes you can reach Lisse or Noordwijkerhout, and via the N206 you can quickly drive to Haarlem, Leiden, or the coast. Cycling to nearby villages or the dune and beach areas is also easy and enjoyable.
